The AMK Thermo-Lite 2 Bivvy is a new and improved version of the tried and true original Thermo-lite Emergency Bivvy. This bivvy is 30% stronger and 1.5 oz. lighter than the previous version. Designed for emergency use in cold environments or as an ultralight sleep system in warmer ones, this light bivvy will provide a warm, dry and windproof escape from harsh weather conditions. The Thermo-Lite 2.0 bivvy reflects up to 80% of your radiated body heat and is more puncture resistant and is easier to repair than the original.

The new design incorporates a tapered shape with original Thermo-Lite material on top to reduce weight. The bottom of the bag is constructed of the durable Thermolite 2 material for best performance on rocky ground or in hard snow pack. Field repairs can be made with duct tape. The side, bottom and top of the bag can be opened to prevent over-heating and to let moisture escape. The bivvy comes in a ripstop, siliconized nylon stuff sack. Weight 6.5 oz. For example, If an item is made is made of plastic, the oil used to make the plastic may have come from outside the United States. If one of our fire starters is on this site, the striking rod may have come from Europe, but the product itself was made by a small business person probably in his basement in the United States. That is because while even though it may be assembled in the Unites States, all the components are made elsewhere and then the product is assembled in the United States with no American made skills or ideas and that is not truly an American made product to us.
