American Made Product Description

This American Made Canned Bacon is back in this Country for the first time in almost 20 years. Not available in any store!

More than 2 years went into the development of this bacon, and we're proud to be able to bring this back to you after improving on a what was a very successful brand of canned bacon made years ago by Celebrity Foods (registered Trademark, all rights reserved).

Yoder's Canned Bacon is Fully Cooked, Ready to Eat, 1 Can, 40 to 50 slices per can

Each can is 9 ounces of fully cooked and drained bacon. Between 2-3/4 and 3-1/4 pounds of raw bacon go into each can. Each can is the highest quality fresh #1 bacon slices. Cured to our specifications, cooked and then hand wrapped, rolled and packed in the U.S.

Yoder's Canned Bacon is cooked down for you prior to canning, so you won't pay for all of the natural shrinkage that occurs whenever you cook bacon. All of the fat and liquid is carefully drained off and can it fresh so it will taste as good out of the can as it would right out of the refrigerator.

100% U.S. bacon!

With a shelf life in excess of 10 years, Yoder's Canned Bacon makes a perfect addition to your food storage program and it is great for every day use. Take some with you when you go camping, hiking or hunting - keep a case in the boat, RV, cabin or anywhere that you may need to prepare a meal but don't have refrigeration!!

Here's what it looks like when it comes out of the can:

Ready to eat right out of the can or toss it in a pan to heat it up.

Bacon retains its sliced form and is easy to work with!

You will be amazed that this came out of a can!

100% US Bacon, packed in the US!

Supplier's Note On Shelf Life

Canned long shelf life food has a shelf life of at least two years from the date of processing. Canned food retains its safety and nutritional value well beyond two years, but it may have some variation in quality, such as a change of color and texture. Canning is a high-heat process that renders the food commercially sterile. Food safety is not an issue in products kept on the shelf or in the pantry for long periods of time. In fact, canned long shelf life food has an almost indefinite shelf life at moderate temperatures (75 F and below). Canned food as old as 100 years has been found in sunken ships and it is still microbiologically safe! We don't recommend keeping canned food for 100 years, but if the can is intact, not dented or bulging, it is edible.

Yoder's is a family business which has spanned 4 generations and with over 100 years of history.

Canned BaconCanned food labels have tendency to peel off over time, especially if they are kept for years in your basement. In order to prevent this, put a coat of shellac over the label as soon as you get them. This way, you will always know what's in the can years later.

10/24/08 - We recently picked up some great long shelf life canned foods and they are selling even better than we expected. I decided to do a taste test today on a few of them and we're all shocked at how good they are. I opened up a can each of the bacon, turkey chunks, pork sausage and the bread. None of us liked the bread. However all the rest are awesome! I think we all like the bacon the best. There is quite a bit of full bacon strips (not dehydrated and ready to eat right out of the can) wrapped in wax paper in the can. I eat all kinds of crazy things, but Lisa, David and Loree also loved the canned turkey, canned pork sausage and the canned bacon. It surprised me how tasty and full of flavor they all are. In fact, we're all filing up on it and are having it for lunch today. The three cans of meats is more than enough food for the 4 of us. The bread isn't horrible. We all agree that it kind of tastes like molasses bread that has been in a can. I know, not a very good description, but it's the best we can do for now. The bread is moist and a little crumbly, but doesn't compare to the full, rich flavor of the other canned foods we tested. Over time, we might do taste tests on more of our canned foods, but I hope this gives you a good idea of all our canned foods since they come from the same company.

01/16/09 - We started offering these canned foods just a few months ago and they are already among our best selling products. We stock more and more of these long shelf life canned foods every week. We have a steady, current and brand new supply and get more every week. We ship them out almost as quickly as we get them. We are also preparing one year food supplies with these items so stay tuned for that. We are also adding new canned food items every month. Even though they are moving so fast, we’re doing great on shipping times. These long shelf life canned foods ship from our warehouse in Upstate NY.

American Made products from a 50 year old family run, veteran owned, American company. We have done quite a bit of research to determine which of our products to place on our new American made products web site. Please note that when we say that a product is made in America, that may mean that the raw materials have come from outside United States. For example, If an item is made is made of plastic, the oil used to make the plastic may have come from outside the United States. If one of our fire starters is on this site, the striking rod may have come from Europe, but the product itself was made by a small business person probably in his basement in the United States. On the other hand, you might notice that we don't have any radios on this site. That is because while even though it may be assembled in the Unites States, all the components are made elsewhere and then the product is assembled in the United States with no American made skills or ideas and that is not truly an American made product to us. If you have questions for more detail about an American made product, please contact us.
